It Takes Balls to Talk is a campaign which uses sporting themes and key messages to direct people to help and support – and we need your help!

Would you like to volunteer with us?

We will be out and about at various sports events this year, speaking to fans about the campaign and how they can look after their mental health and wellbeing. We need people to join us to help continue our work and increase awareness of the campaign so we can smash out the stigma associated with mental health. It is likely we will get free tickets to the sports events that we raise awareness at… a perk of volunteering with us!

Tickets will be available for events to all volunteers.

If you would like to volunteer, and haven’t already taken part in one of our training courses, you will need to attend the next available session. We will confirm this session shortly.

Follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook. We love to share stories and experiences so please get in touch. Alternatively you can e-mail [email protected].

Become a "Listening Mate"

It Takes Balls to Talk uses sporting themes to encourage people, particularly men, to talk about their feelings and mental health problems. The campaign group trains volunteers who go to sporting events such as football and rugby matches to break down the barriers that men so often erect in caring for their own mental health — by simply listening.

If you’d have some time and you would like to help others why not become a listening mate?
